Global Warming Debate and Arguments for Students of all Ages
Global warming refers to the long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth’s climate system. This increase in temperature is causing various environmental and social changes, such as melting ice caps, rising sea levels, and more severe weather events. The primary cause of global warming is human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. The global warming debate is a critical and contentious issue, with opinions ranging from those who believe it is a pressing concern to those who believe it is not a significant problem.

Argument 1: The existence of Global Warming is real and caused by human activities.
The overwhelming scientific evidence supports the reality of global warming, and the majority of climate scientists agree that human activities, particularly the emission of greenhouse gases, are the primary cause. Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO2), trap heat in the Earth’s atmosphere and cause the temperature to rise. The increase in temperature leads to melting ice caps, rising sea levels, and other significant environmental changes. The burning of fossil fuels releases large amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, and deforestation removes trees, which absorb and store carbon, exacerbating the problem.
