Talking About City Life

Everyone is drawn to city life because of the amenities available and the lifestyle available. But, as the saying goes, every coin has two sides, and this circumstance is no exception. Whereas some people are thrilled to go to cities and live there, others are dissatisfied with city life since it is overcrowded and polluted. And although grownups are dealing with such challenges, children are also dealing with a slew of issues, as having a carefree childhood becomes increasingly difficult year after year. In this video, two kids are talking about city life, the problems they face, and the solutions they might use to make things simpler. As it is said, talking may fix problems, therefore begin communicating as a first step toward resolution.

city vocabulary words

Justin: Good Morning Jason
Jason: Good Morning. You know Justin; the last night something really struck me hard.
Justin: Oh, okay.
Jason: Well, you see the population in our city? Isn’t it too much?
Justin: Hmm…. That’s quite true.
Jason: The city is not even prepared to contain such a large influx. All our playgrounds are always full. The streets are so crowded.
Justin: Agreed. But presently, this is how metro cities all over the world are.
Jason: But we are over populated and it’s adversely affecting our health.
Justin: I know but developing large cities and then maintaining them needs top notch infrastructural planning.
Jason: Can’t the government fix this up?
Justin: It’s not just about the government alone but also the corporates and the common man. Each one has to take the responsibility.
Jason: That’s some rational thinking. And I am sure, it will never take shape.
Justin: That’s so true. But why are you so concerned about this particular subject?
Jason: I mean, though there are so many facilities here, it’s all chaotic. And I am not able to enjoy anything.
Justin: Let me help you with that.

Jason: Is it really possible?
Justin: Of course, it is. All you need to do is collect yourself first.
Jason: I am listening.
Justin: Join few activity classes and you are all set.
Jason: That’s so easy.
Justin: It looks but it’s not.
Jason: What’s difficult in that? I will just have to enroll myself with such classes and pay them their fees.
Justin: Most often we take such classes casually and fail to show up regularly.
Jason: Yes, I do agree to what you are saying. But in order to get out of this boredom I am going to take it seriously.
Justin: Hope I was able to help you.
Jason: Of course, Justin. I still have a question though.
Justin: Okay
Jason: If joining activities works as a solution, to killing boredom then why don’t everybody get into it?
Justin: Each one has a different perspective about it. Besides, most of them can’t afford it.
Jason: I don’t find logic in developing negative perspective around joining activity classes. Therefore, I am not sure why should anyone else.
Justin: You need to understand. City life demands working on priorities leading up to forming individual perspectives.
Jason: Honestly speaking I can’t comprehend people’s behavior but I am all good with your suggestion.
Justin: Perfect! I need to go now. I am getting late for my football classes.
Jason: Sure, and thanks once again for guiding me.
Justin: It’s always been a pleasure to help you.
