esl renting an apartment

Justin: Hey Sam. What happened to you? You look worried.
Sam: Yeah buddy, I’m totally devastated.
Justin: What’s the matter, if you don’t mind me asking?
Sam: I’m looking for an apartment. I need to shift somewhere by early next week.
Justin: But why are you leaving your current apartment? It’s pretty good.
Sam: I know that but my lease has expired a week ago. Unfortunately, I forgot to renew it. Now the landlord has rented my apartment to someone else. This guy is going to move in the next week.
Justin: That’s terrible thing to happen.
Sam: Help me buddy, I really need to find a new place immediately. Give me some pointers.
Justin: Why don’t you look up our University official website? They facilitate apartment hunting service too.
Sam: I did go through it yesterday but found no current listings against available apartments. Using their web form, I have submitted my requirement though.
Justin: Damn! Did you post your requirement on social media?
Sam: Not yet. I don’t think it’s a good idea.
Justin: You are a nut. According to me that should have been your first action. Wait a minute. I am posting your requirement on my page right now. Let’s see how it goes.
Sam: Okay, hope it works.
Justin: By the way tell me what exactly you are looking for?
Sam: A one bed room apartment is what I am looking for. If not, even a studio apartment will do good.

Justin: What about the locality?
Sam: Of course, it has to be close to our University. I need to keep the travelling expense and traveling time under control. I can’t afford that right now.
Justin: Noted. And what about the rent? How much can you afford to pay?
Sam: Not more than 800 dollars per month.
Justin: Hhmm, that sounds pretty reasonable. And what about amenities?
Sam: I’m totally fine with the basic amenities.
Justin: And finally, would you be okay to share an apartment with a roommate?
Sam: Hhmm, I don’t mind sharing but then it has to be at least two-bedroom apartment. I need some privacy.
Justin: Great. I’ve just posted it and I’m sure our requirement will get good attention.
Sam: And what if it doesn’t?
Justin: Just wait and watch. Be optimistic. Tomorrow we will even check with some local newspaper ads in the housing column. I’m sure you will find an apartment very soon.
Sam: That’s so nice of you Justin, you are a real friend.
Justin: That was a simple thing to do. But yes, a friend in need is a friend indeed. Ha ha ha
Sam: Ha ha ha
