Oh, hello there, my friend, the Moon
I see you shining up above
Your light is bright, but not too soon
You’re gentle like a dove

You light up the night sky so well
And make the stars twinkle too
Sometimes you’re big, sometimes you’re small
But always there, shining through

You change your shape from day to day
A crescent, full, or just a sliver
I wonder if you have a say
In which shape you’ll deliver

I love to watch you up above
And wonder what you see
Do you watch us all with love?
And wish that we were free?
